Home...

After three and half years of living on the road, I am home. Finally!

My stint with management consulting has been gruelling, fun, rewarding, tiring and exciting, all at the same time. I have flown hundreds of thousands of miles to remote corners of this country (try Ulysses, Ks or Metropolis, Il or Canadian, Tx or Gallipolis Ferry, WV or Crane, Tx), clocked quality car time each week, wined and dined at absolutely abysmal and absolutely fabulous joints, scored a gazillion hotel and credit card points, learnt a great deal about management and consulting and the ways of the big bad corporate world.

A few months back, I decided that a transition to a 'normal' job was prudent for me at this point in time. After much hemming and hawing and such, I finally started today at Slanted E.

A new phase in my life has now begun. Change is always tough, but I love it all the same! I am letting go of the old and charting into unknown territory. I am excited, apprehensive and optimistic!

Good luck Woorkeri Wittynathan! MTFBWU!

Archie Holmes And the Case of the Missing Art...

Kannadiga me has been surrounded by Tamizhans and Tamizhachis over the last few months - it's kinda like being in undergrad at Trichy, all over agian for me! Given my love and penchant for languages, my affection for Tamizh has been rediscovered. Voila! Here's further proof of how I spent 60 minutes last Thursday, rekindling my relationship with Tamizh.

Reference: Ciara likes to refer to Witty as Archie Boy at times. Witty reminds her of a handsome, dashing, funny, girl crazy, brilliant professor of hers in undergrad, Archie Holmes. Elementary, my dear reader...

Witty to Ciara:

Medley...

With an impending change in my 'travel' status, I figured I might as well spend some quality time in the kitchen and get attuned.

So, yesterday around 1 pm, in a flash of brilliance, I decided to cook! GASP!

My recipe:
Heat oil in the frying pan for a few minutes
Add some garam masala and jeera
Microwave 1 packet of Smart Style chik n strips (chicken like tofu strips, available at whole foods)
Add to the pan
Add some mixed vegetables (asian stir fry type)
Add some salsa, garlic salt and pepper
Fry for about 10 minutes

Load the taco shells with the afore mentioned medley.

EAT!!! (If it does not taste yum, remember - I am in the federal witness protection program! :) )

A few thoughts:

I loved the exercise. Cooking is fun because of the creative joy it brings!
(I know, I know - "Wait till you have to cook 4 times a week. Then we'll talk, mister!")

What a melting pot America is!! Where else can you get garam masala, taco shells, asian style stir fry vegetables and chicken like tofu all in one place!

Watch this space for more fusion recipes! :)

So, what's cookin' good lookin'?

Circle...

My buddy, Harish and I were discussing plots for a short film several weeks back. Here's one of the outputs. There's more to the script itself, but that comes later....

So, A likes B, B likes C, C likes D and D likes A.

They are not happy with who they are with or they want someone else. It's a karmic circle...

They realize they are being hurt by the one they love. But at the same time, they are hurting the ones who love them. They know how it feels to be in their partner's shoes, yet they are unflinching.

I guess we always want what we can't get. And we never appreciate what we can get. Perhaps, finding happiness by making others happy is just a myth, when it comes to affairs of the heart? We are all selfish in this regard, and perhaps rightfully so. Perhaps, there is no fun in seeing someone be thrilled at the fact that they are with you. Perhaps, one would much rather be thrilled than thrill....?

Maybe, B will like A one day. Bah, who am I kidding! :P

Alright, alright - in the spirit of optimism, maybe D and A will like each other some sunny day!

Happy fishing readers!
