Move it...

Isn't the human body a mind boggling system? Balance, symmetry, control, the works - nature at it's best! But it's prone to errors as well.

The pain and suffering to oneself and to one's near and dear ones when afflicted with an injury or a disease is
distressing - be it cancer, AIDS or Alzheimer's (not to mention physical or mental handicaps). it would be a moot point to compare the relative agonies of these conditions. Thoughts and prayers for those afflicted.

However, the one I dread the most is paralysis. The notion of not being able to move a muscle or speak a word sends chills down my spine. One of my idle Google searches brought me to a foundation that is performing research on treatment and cure for paralysis :

http://www.miamiproject.miami.edu/

Quoting from this site:

"Every day the scientists at The Miami Project are finding new insights and discoveries as they uncover the mysteries of how the central nervous system works. The research that they are doing is bringing us closer to the day that they will be able to conduct human clinical trials to find a cure.

Right now, The Miami Project spends more than $45,000 a day on research programs with 86 cents out of every dollar raised going directly towards research. Scientific research is difficult and expensive. Our investigations are particularly demanding: cutting-edge technology is costly; highly trained minds need support. "

End quote.

I urge you to donate generously (you can donate online using your CC) at:

Hopefully, together, we will all be able to find a cure for paralysis and alleviate the pain and suffering of millions of people around the world. Amen.

Agreed. The human body is the most fascinating thing ever! The complexities the body has and the functions it performs, right on schedule, each and every time, makes one wonder what sense evolution makes. For me, it's creation all the way coz only God could know how to come up with this design!
